Wolverine Press is staffed by “printer’s devils”. Devils come primarily from the prose and poetry cohorts of the Helen Zell Writers Program, though Wolverine Press has also benefited from the expertise of undergraduates from the English Department, editorial staff members from the University of Michigan Press, graduate students from Comparative Literature and the School of Information, as well as librarians from the University Libraries.

Wolverine Press is founded in the summer when the type collection is purchased from the estate of John Moran of Muskegon, Michigan and our main press is purchased from the estate of Thomas Trumble in Parma, Michigan.
